St. Raymond Alumni Excel in College Athletics
St. Raymond School is proud of its' alumni athletes, many of whom have participated, or are currently participating, at the D1 level in various sports. Not only have these students excelled in athletics, their academic and career accomplishments are extremely impressive. Here are the highlights of some of our St. Raymond superstars:
Brady Fuerst, St. Raymond Class of 2001, Santa Clara University Baseball
Brady played 2nd base for Santa Clara University. He was a unanimous All-WCC selection his junior year, seeing action in 54 of 55 games. He graduated in 2009 with a major in Communications and went on to NYU where he obtained his Masters in Real Estate Development. Brady resides in Menlo Park and works for the Fuerst Group in finance and real estate development. He is engaged to be married this year.
Bailey Dewitt, St. Raymond Class of 2004, Georgetown University Field Hockey
Bailey was a field hockey standout, playing defense for the Hoyas. She majored in History at Georgetown and is now working for xAd, a location-based mobile advertising technology company in New York City.
Ryan Sakowski, St. Raymond Class of 2005, Stanford University Baseball
Ryan was a star athlete at both St. Raymond and Sacred Heart Prep before attending Stanford where he played nfield for Stanford baseball in 2009-10. He graduated with a BS in Management Science & Engineering and is currently working at Yodlee in Enterprise Sales.
Christopher Gaertner, St. Raymond Class of 2006, Stanford University Football
Chris played defensive back and free safety for the Stanford Cardinal. He majored in Economics and following graduation, worked as an investment banker in New York for two years. Currently he is in San Francisco working in private equity.
Sarah Daschbach, St. Raymond Class of 2008, Princeton University Volleyball
After a high school (SHP) and club career as an outside hitter, Sarah played the libero position at Princeton University. She graduated last Spring as the second all time digs leader in Princeton volleyball history. Sarah started every match at libero. She was named team captain her Senior year and finished her career at Princeton with her team winning the Ivy League Championship. Sarah is currently working in equities trading for Barclays Bank in New York City.
Ryan Gaertner, St, Raymond Class of 2009, Stanford University Football
Ryan played defensive back and corner back for Stanford University. He will graduate from Stanford this year with a degree in Public Policy and Economics. He has already landed a job in private equity in San Francisco which he will start after graduation.
Ian Colbert, St. Raymond Class of 2009, University of California San Diego Volleyball
Ian is a two-time MPSF All-Academic and the 2016 UCSD Team's Most Valuable Player. Playing outside hitter, Ian was one of three Tritons to appear in all 28 matches and one of two to start every match. He had an outstanding year with career bests across the board leading his team in sets, kills and points. Ian is studying Electrical engineering, with an emphasis in Machine Learning. He has been accepted into UCSD's Masters Program, and will stay at UCSD for another year to complete his MS Degree.
Nico Robinson, St. Raymond Class of 2009, Dartmouth University Track and Field
Nico Robinson has had an impressive career competing as a decathlete and heptathlete for the Dartmouth Track and Field team. In 2015 he was the Indoor Ivy League Heptathlon Champion and the USTFCCCA D1 Mens Track and Field Scholar Athlete and All-Academic Individual, as well as being named to the First Team All Ivy League. In 2016 Nico was the Outdoor Ivy League Decathlon Runner-Up and named to the Second Team All Ivy League. Nico will graduate this Spring with a degree in Biology.
Taylor Chadwick, St. Raymond Class of 2009, University of California Berkeley Lacrosse
Number 12, Taylor Chadwick, has been playing Lacrosse at CAL for four years. He has proven invaluable at the defensive midfield position. Taylor will graduate this Spring with a degree in Business Administration.
Mary Closs, St. Raymond Class of 2009, University of Notre Dame Tennis
Mary has been a valuable member of the Notre Dame women's tennis team playing in every ACC match for the past three years and serving as co-captain of the team this year. She is a three time ITA Scholar Athlete and has been named to the Dean's List three times. Mary will graduate this Spring with a degree in IT Management with an emphasis in Business Analytics.
Andrew Daschbach, St. Raymond Class of 2012, Stanford University Baseball
Andrew was a multi-sport, outstanding athlete in high school at SHP (baseball, football, basketball and lacrosse), He was recognized by the San Mateo Daily Journal as Male Athlete of the Year in 2014 and 2015 and was named First Team All League in football, basketball and baseball as a high school Senior. Andrew was recruited by Stanford for baseball and is just beginning what is sure to be an extremely successful college career.
Gabriel Morgan, St. Raymond School Class of 2012, Princeton University Squash
Gabriel Morgan, a recent graduate of Menlo School, was Princeton's top U.S. recruit and currently plays #2 on his team. He has won four straight matches to kick off his Ivy League career and is undefeated to date. Gabriel is also a member of the U.S. Squash National Team. This past summer, Gabriel helped Team USA make squash history by winning a bronze medal at the prestigious 2016 World Junior Squash Championships in Poland, the best ever finish for the United States men.
Clare Greenlow, St. Raymond Class of 2013, University of Utah Diving
Clare, currently a senior at St. Francis High School, recently signed a national letter of intent committing her to the University of Utah for Diving. Clare is excited to dive for one of the top PAC-12 diving teams, under one of the best coaches in the country.
