Izzy Mandema, Class of 2013, Signs with Indiana

Isabella (Izzy) Mandema, St. Raymond School graduate and senior water polo standout at St. Francis High School, signed a NCAA National Letter of Intent with Indiana University last week.  Sought after by numerous Division 1 waterpolo programs, Izzy chose Indiana to continue her water polo career.

Izzy has been a varsity starter at St. Francis since her Freshman year. She has scored an unheard of 376 goals in her high school career thus far, and has been named to the All-American team three times. She received four first team All-WCAL honors and three first team selections to the All-CCS squad. Izzy was named the CCS Co-Player of the Year last season as a junior.

Aside from playing at St. Francis, Izzy has also been playing with Stanford WPC—coached by former Olympian Bernice Orwig.  She has spent two seasons in the Olympic Development Program (Pacific Zone). KAI~Sports placed Izzy on three Cal-HI All-American teams, an annual compilation of the best players from water polo's top states.  In addition, Izzy is a four year Scholar Athlete, maintaining her GPA while giving it her all in the pool.

Congratulations to Izzy on an amazing high school career and best of luck at Indiana!!
