Jog-a-Thon Kicks Off Speakers' Series
The St. Raymond School Jog-a-Thon committee has been hard at work preparing for the "run" which will take place on Friday, May 5th. This year, the Jog-A-Thon co-chairs, Heidi Butz and Colleen Miltenberg have organized a series of speakers to come to St. Raymond and talk to the students during morning assembly on how to "Be the Difference".
The first speaker on the schedule was Erica McCall, a senior on the Stanford Women's Basketball team. Erica is a team captain this year and leads the team in points scored and rebounds. Erica couldn't be here in person as Stanford was preparing to play in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament, however she addressed the students in an inspirational and encouraging recorded message.
At the April 3rd morning assembly, Sean McGorty and Elise Cranny, members of the Stanford Track Team, were on hand to speak to the students. Sean and Elise have achieved incredible results in distance running in college. They encouraged the students to be the difference on your team, in your sports and activities, in the classroom, among your friends and family and in the way you lead your life.
Four more speakers are on the schedule over the next three weeks. Please join us for morning assembly on the following dates:
April 10 - Jack Keelan and Sarah Walker, Stanford Track Team
April 24 - Eric Heitmann, Former SF 49er, Stanford Football
April 28 - Camilo Colorado, Lieutenant - United State Navy
May 1 - Kaylee Johnson, Stanford Women's Basketball
The annual Jog-A-Thon fundraiser is dedicated to enhancing the educational technology programs at St. Raymond School.
