St. Raymond School "Families" - Unlocking Our Potential
In 2015, St. Raymond School initiated the St. Raymond School Families program. Students from grades K-8 are placed into school families and take part in a variety of activities throughout the school year that focus on teamwork, kindness, service and faith. Families consist of students from each grade level. An eighth grade student is the family leader, and directs the family activities. When a student starts in a family in Kindergarten, he or she then stays with that family over the years, and in the seventh or eighth grade becomes the family leader.
The first activity for our school families centered around celebrating that we are all unique with different talents, strengths and characteristics that make us special. When we take our individual talents and join together we can achieve more than we can on our own. The activity included each student making handprints and decorating them. All of the handprints were then joined together to make a flower. The activity corollated with our school theme of - TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More. As you can see from the photos below, the students had a great time bonding with their family members and working together to create a colorful and creative family flower.
