7th Grade Learns to Investigate the Scene of the Crime

7th Grade Learns to Investigate the Scene of the Crime

Our 7th graders had an interesting visitor in Science class this week. Officer Ferguson from the Menlo Park Police Department paid a visit to teach the students about collecting DNA at a crime scene and fingerprinting.  Officer Ferguson gave the students some hands-on training on how to take fingerprints from different surfaces like documents, windows and even her police car.  The presentation was especially relevant as the 7th graders are currently studying genetics and heredity in Science class.  The students were reminded to pray for Officer Ferguson and for the safety of all of our first responders and their families.
