St. Raymond School Names New Principal
Father Daniel Syverstad announced this week that Ms. Valerie Mattei has been selected as the St. Raymond School Principal beginning next Fall. Ms. Mattei is well known around the St. Raymond School community as she has been a classroom teacher here for the past 11 years. She has shown a deep love of Catholic education. She has impressive credentials both as a teacher and as a leader in our school community. Over her years at St. Raymond School, Ms. Mattei has served as master teacher to a number of teachers, as a member of the leadership team for the 2012 WCEA/WASC accreditation, as faculty moderator of Student Council, as faculty moderator of Campus Life, and in a variety of other leadership roles. Ms. Mattei is currently continuing her education at Notre Dame de Namur University working toward her Master’s in Education and Administration. Although Ms. Mattei will be missed in the classroom, we are excited for her to begin her new role as Principal in the 2018-19 school year. We are grateful to Mrs. Scherer for her service at St. Raymond School and we wish her all the best with her move to Nebraska.
