Second Graders Help the Homeless in our Community
Under the direction of the Stanley family, our Second Grade students prepared bag lunches for the homeless. Complete with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruit, chips and a drink, the bag lunches were handed out to the homeless at the Fair Oaks Community Center. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul staffs the homeless desk at Fair Oaks every weekday from 1:15-2:15. Homeless individuals can receive food, shower vouchers, laundry vouchers and clothing vouchers to the St. Vincent de Paul store, among other services. Always happy to have a homemade sandwich on fresh bread, the homeless were pleased to receive the lunches in specially decorated bags made by the Second graders.
