"School Families" Wrap Up the School Year with a Picnic
Our St. Raymond "school families" gathered together one last time for a picnic on the grass. Our school family program puts students from grades K-8 into family groups. These "families" take part in a variety of activities throughout the school year that focus on teamwork, kindness, service and faith. Families consist of students from each grade level. An eighth grade student is the family leader, and directs the family activities. When a student starts in a family in Kindergarten, he or she then stays with that family over the years, and in the seventh or eighth grade becomes the family leader. For this final event, the Junior Kindergarteners were excited to join a family for the first time. They will continue with this family in the Fall. The students enjoyed having lunch and an ice cream treat together, followed by recess.
