Farmers' Market in Second Grade
Second graders hosted a successful farmers' market using the math and social studies skills they have been working on during the school year. Second grade students learn about money in math and about producers and consumers in social studies. The students used their knowledge as they sold various items (flowers, cookies, carrots) to First graders. Second graders raised and lowered their prices depending on how well the items were selling - a hands on supply and demand economics lesson.
