4th Graders Experience Life in Early California
Fourth grade traveled back in time for a hands on experience to learn more about early San Mateo County/California history. Normally this field trip takes place at Sanchez Adobe, but this year due to construction the class traveled to the San Pedro Valley Park. The students got a real feel for how the early Californians lived and worked. The students were enthusiastic about all the activities they were able to participate in which included making candles, learning how to rope a cow like the vaqueros, mixing the mud for adobe bricks and grinding corn.
